Graciousness.....

Have you ever thought about the word graciousness? Do you know what it means? I was studying a verse today( and probably will everyday until I die) talking about winning people over with your words.

He that loveth pureness of heart, for the grace of his lips the king shall be his friend. Proverbs 22:11

It was interesting to me to think about the way that I deal with just my husband and kids. The way that I can be so upset and angry and pick up the phone and be cordial and nice. I feel guilty knowing the different people who mean most to me I've hurt with mean words. I have made this my verse for awhile. The one I will memorize and teach to my children. If this is one thing they learn from my example it will only be by God's grace. Graciousness and kindness are things totally lost in our society today. I find it lost in my heart. Thankfully, the Lord is good, and He is gracious. He will help me to become the woman after His own heart I desperately want to be.

Just some different thoughts from my study today. What comes out of our mouths is a reflection of our hearts!!! Don't forget that as easily as I have!

Thanks you honey. I printed this entire post and put it at work. it amazes me how fast I can go from a prayer of "please God help my words be a reflection of my Christian heart". And with in seconds of walking in the door I am forgetting that prayer. Maybe if I have this as a reminder I will look at it and remember I asked Him to help me shut my mouth and reflect his love.

Thanks again for this.

I always think of the Proverbs 31 Woman....and in her mouth is the law of kindness.

*sigh* I struggle with this too. =[ It's been on my heart to get better with God's help though.

Great post Jenn, its something that I've been working on, its neat that God even works in our lives and is patient to continue to do so, helping us become the woman of God that He wants us to be. Its such an encouragement that he never gives up!
Hug your little kiddo's for me :)Can't wait to see you all.
